YTWT Organizes Public Speaking Competition in Zaria

By Idris Umar, Zaria The YTWT organization, in collaboration with Yhunich Mentors Academy, organized a public speaking competition that brought together young people from Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas of Kaduna State. According to our correspondent, the event was held at the main conference hall of Rock Hotel, located in the GRA area of Zaria. The competition, titled "Zazzau Public Speaking Contest 1.0 for Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas, Kaduna State," featured talented young men and women from the two local government areas. A total of 50 participants who successfully passed the screening process qualified for the competition.  During the event, contestants delivered speeches on various topics, including leadership, leadership challenges, the importance of youth in national development, and the challenges facing young people. World Bank’s $27m Grant to 20 States Validates Transparency Reforms – Umar Yakubu

The Executive Director of the Center for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI), Dr. Umar Yakubu, has said the World Bank's decision to reward 20 Nigerian states with 27 million dollars under the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity Governance (HOPE-GOV) Programme validates the importance of transparency and accountability in public governance. Yakubu stated this in a statement issued on Friday, saying the performance-based grants demonstrated that governments which embrace openness, strengthen public financial management and comply with verifiable governance standards are increasingly being rewarded by development partners. The newly elected Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria Chapter, Comrade Usman Shehu Sulaiman, has pledged to run an inclusive administration focused on members’ welfare and institutional growth. Sulaiman made the pledge on Thursday in Zaria shortly after he was declared winner of the 2026 chapter election by the ASUP Electoral Committee. The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the North-West Zone, DIG Sulaiman Muhammad Abdul, has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between security agencies and traditional institutions in addressing insecurity across the region.
