Children’s Day: CGE Reaffirms Commitment To Girl-Child Education
The Centre for Girls' Education (CGE) has reaffirmed its commitment towards improving access to quality education for girls as part of activities marking the 2026 International Children’s Day celebration. The event brought together children benefiting from the organisation’s educational programmes across different communities, alongside parents, community leaders and education stakeholders. Speaking at the occasion, Hajia Lubabatu Salisu Ahmad, one of the Coordinators overseeing children’s education programmes under CGE, described Children’s Day as an important occasion dedicated to celebrating children and promoting their rights, welfare and access to education. She stressed that education remains one of the strongest tools for empowering girls and protecting their future, noting that many girls in rural communities still face challenges ranging from poverty, early marriage and lack of access to proper learning opportunities.
